Neighbors Helping Neighbors
The Good Samaritan Ministries of Franklin County was established in 1983 as an ecumenical, non-profit ministry of local churches. While churches are still our core partners, businesses, civic organizations, charitable foundations, schools and a network of individual benefactors have also joined with us to assist our neighbors.
Today, scores of volunteers, church groups, merchants and donors hold food drives, provide gently used clothing, and make monetary contributions to help Good Samaritan assist those in need.
Everyone associated with The Good Samaritan Ministries is a volunteer. Even our building is a volunteer, provided to us by a local benefactor. Because we’re an all-volunteer ministry, we’re able to keep our administrative expenses to only 6% of our total donated revenue. 94 cents of every dollar we receive goes directly to providing assistance to our clients.
Clients are never charged for our services.
The Good Samaritan Ministries is open to clients and to receive donations of food and clothing 10:00am – 2:00pm, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
